Born and raised in the UK, Daniel completed his first university degree in Melbourne, Australia, where he began his teaching career. Returning to the UK in 2001, he taught briefly in the state sector prior to his appointment at North London Collegiate School (NLCS), and completed a master’s degree in English Literature at Birkbeck College, University of London, in 2004. At NLCS, he has held the posts of director of drama and director of extracurricular activities, and was appointed deputy head in 2010. That position carried the added responsibility of establishing NLCS’s first overseas school, NLCS Jeju (South Korea), and Daniel led delivery of all aspects of that project. He was also responsible for identifying, and then delivering, the NLCS Dubai project, and took the project forward as principal from September 2016. NLCS Dubai opened last September with nearly 250 students, and will more than double that number in its second year. The school plans to offer the IB continuum and has already gained authorisation to teach the IB diploma, with the first cohort starting this September.
